Where it all started
Our story began with a landmark project for Doris Duke, one of the wealthiest and most influential women of her time. Commissioned to contribute to her private retreat in Honolulu, Hawaii, we crafted intricate architectural elements that reflected her deep appreciation for Islamic art and culture. This early project laid the foundation for our commitment to excellence and authenticity. Today, these works proudly reside in the Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design, serving as a testament to our legacy and the timeless beauty of our craftsmanship.

Hospitality and Commercial Spaces
The Oberoi Amar Villas, India
At Oberoi Amar Villas, Stownz worked within a context of profound heritage and symbolism. Inspired by Mughal architecture and the nearby Taj Mahal, the project demanded sensitivity, restraint, and exceptional craftsmanship.
Hand-finished stone, classical detailing, and harmonious proportions define the architectural language. The materials are used to create a serene, palatial atmosphere—where luxury is expressed through calm precision rather than excess. Stownz’ work complements the hotel’s ethos of understated grandeur, contributing to an experience rooted in timeless Indian hospitality.

The Leela Palace, India
The Leela Palace represents modern Indian royalty translated into contemporary hospitality. Stownz’ stonework plays a vital role in shaping this narrative—introducing elegance, durability, and ceremonial presence across key architectural spaces.
Rich natural stones, refined carvings, and balanced geometries lend the palace its distinctive character. Each surface is crafted to reflect dignity and opulence while maintaining architectural clarity. The project stands as an example of how traditional luxury can be expressed through disciplined, world-class material execution.
